Key Responsibilities of EHS Officer / Senior Officer

1. Development and Maintenance of EHS Documentation
- Creating and updating EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals, formats, and records.
- Maintaining and revising the On-Site Emergency Plan in alignment with regulatory requirements and company protocols.
2. Conducting Training and Safety Drills
- Organizing and conducting safety training for employees across all departments.
- Executing mock drills, evacuation drills, and fire safety drills to ensure preparedness in emergency situations.
3. Incident Investigation and CAPA Implementation
- Leading incident investigations to identify root causes and contributing factors.
- Preparing and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring safety issues.
4. Execution of Safety Risk Assessments
- Performing Risk Assessment, HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), JSA (Job Safety Analysis), PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review), and HAZOP studies for various operations.
- Highlighting potential hazards, recommending preventive measures, and monitoring risk mitigation strategies.
5. Budget Planning and Inventory Management
- Preparing the yearly EHS budget for equipment, training, and safety-related improvements.
- Maintaining inventory records for safety tools, equipment, and firefighting systems.
6. Fire Safety and Equipment Maintenance
- Monitoring the upkeep of fire alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, and other firefighting systems.
- Ensuring timely servicing and audit compliance of all fire safety equipment.
7. Documentation for External Audits and Standards
- Preparing documentation for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits.
- Maintaining records for EcoVadis, PSCI, and other global safety audits.
- Coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with guidelines.
8. Conducting Safety Audits and BBS Observations
- Performing regular internal safety audits and site inspections.
- Carrying out Behavior Based Safety (BBS) observations and encouraging safety culture within the team.
9. Leading Safety Committee Meetings
- Organizing and managing Safety Committee Meetings as per the statutory requirements.
- Recording minutes, assigning responsibilities, and tracking action plans.
10. Familiarity with Behavioral Safety Software
- Candidates with experience in Behavioral Safety Software will have an added advantage, as it helps track observations and improve safety performance.
Qualifications and Experience Required
