Introduction to the Role
The Analyst – Scientific Communications & Medical Information role is part of the Medical Information & Communications (MI&C) team based in Bangalore, India. The MI&C team collaborates with global and U.S.-based counterparts to develop and implement high-quality, compliant scientific content strategies. 1. Scientific Content Development
- Develop, review, and maintain accurate, engaging, and compliant scientific content across multiple formats, such as:

- Infographics and other visual scientific materials
- Ensure that all materials adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
2. Medical Information Support
- Provide accurate, focused, and balanced responses to medical information requests from healthcare professionals.
- Ensure that all communications support the safe and effective use of AstraZeneca products.

3. Literature Research and Data Interpretation
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches to identify relevant studies and references.

4. Collaboration and Cross-functional Alignment
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and global brand teams.

- Participate in medical planning activities and content strategy development.
5. Digital Innovation and Process Improvement
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives aimed at modernizing scientific content delivery.
- Support digital content creation and digital asset management.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce turnaround time.
- Help develop systems to track performance metrics and process improvements.
6. Leadership and Mentorship
- For experienced professionals, lead key workstreams and mentor junior team members.
- Participate in strategic medical planning, congress support, and product launch initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in life sciences — PharmD (preferred), MD, PhD, or equivalent in pharmacy, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines.
- 3–4 years of experience in scientific communications, medical writing, or medical information roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
- Strong scientific understanding of therapeutic areas and clinical data.
- Proficiency in developing diverse content types, including slide decks, scientific summaries, and infographics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- Experience in performing literature evaluation, content accuracy reviews, and data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements for medical information dissemination.
