About the Role: Scientific Sales Executive

The position of Scientific Sales Executive plays a critical role in driving Opella’s growth in the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare markets. As a Scientific Sales Executive, you will be responsible for strengthening the company’s brand presence and driving product adoption by healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Growth

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as assigned by the Channel Sales Manager (CSM) or Regional Business Manager (RBM).
  • Drive prescription growth and increase product adoption among target doctors.
  • Ensure effective utilization of sales leadership tools such as OPTIMA and SLP guidelines to maintain process excellence.
  • Manage customer acquisition budgets efficiently while following ethical marketing practices.

2. Market and Customer Engagement

  • Plan and execute daily field activities with clear objectives for each doctor call.
  • Conduct pre-call and post-call analyses to improve customer interactions and build stronger relationships.
  • Visit chemists and stockists regularly to gather market intelligence and ensure product availability.
  • Collect feedback on company and competitor products and report insights to the management team.

3. Product Availability and Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with distributors, stockists, and C&F agents to ensure timely product availability in assigned territories.
  • Track breakage, expiry, and product returns within the approved limits and escalate issues as required.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and manage stock movement effectively.

4. Brand Promotion and Marketing

  • Organize scientific meetings, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, and group discussions with doctors.
  • Support patient acquisition and retention programs in collaboration with marketing teams.
  • Plan and execute doctor events including venue selection, logistics, and post-event follow-up to enhance brand awareness.

5. Teamwork and Training

  • Participate in all training programs, conferences, and regional meetings to continuously upgrade knowledge and skills.
  • Support new joiners by imparting field induction training and providing feedback on their performance.
  • Collaborate closely with CSMs, RBMs, Product Managers, Supply Chain Managers, and Regional Training Managers.

6. Reporting and Compliance

  • Report all adverse drug events promptly to the Pharmacovigilance department as per regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Opella’s Code of Ethics and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate data in the OPTIMA system and submit timely reports.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Growth in prescription generation and doctor coverage frequency.

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Qualification: Any Graduate
  • Preferred Qualification: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum: 2+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare sales.
  • Preferred Industries: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health, or OTC product sales.
