Job Overview
IQVIA is hiring a Medical Surveillance Specialist 1 to provide comprehensive medical surveillance support for clinical research studies. Key Responsibilities
Medical Data Monitoring & Evaluation
- Review and evaluate laboratory results daily from sponsor-designated central laboratories.
- Analyze and interpret lab data using eDC (electronic data capture) systems in accordance with protocol-specific guidelines.
- Compare current and previous lab results to identify clinically significant changes.
- Communicate with investigator sites to collect additional clinical information as required.
Clinical Liaison & Communication
- Act as a liaison between the Medical Services Department, sponsors, laboratories, and the IQVIA Project Team.
- Ensure timely communication of critical findings that may affect study progress or safety outcomes.
- Participate in project team meetings and contribute to discussions related to laboratory data review.

Data Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and ensure compliance with clinical study protocols.
- Identify trends or abnormalities in lab data that may require escalation to IQVIA Medical Advisors.
- Collaborate with central laboratory staff to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of laboratory findings.
Project Support
- Assist the Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist with project setup and data management activities.
- Attend project meetings as required and support process improvements in medical surveillance practices.
- Perform other assigned tasks related to clinical monitoring and data evaluation.

Qualifications and Skills Required
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related health sciences.
- Degrees in healthcare fields such as Allopathy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, or Dentistry are also eligible.
- Experience:
- 2–6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2.5 years in medical surveillance or clinical data monitoring.
- Skills:
- Strong technical and analytical skills to interpret complex laboratory data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in data management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
