Key Responsibilities
As a Statistical Programmer II, you will play a crucial role in transforming clinical data into meaningful insights. Your responsibilities include: ICON plc Hiring for Statistical Programmer II
- Developing, validating, and maintaining advanced statistical programs using SAS, R, or similar programming tools to support data manipulation, analysis, and clinical trial reporting.
- Collaborating closely with biostatisticians and cross-functional teams to interpret study protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs).
- Preparing and reviewing derived datasets, analysis specifications, and ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP and regulatory guidelines.
- Supporting regulatory submissions by generating high-quality datasets, tables, listings, and figures (TLFs) per industry standards.
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and traceability throughout the programming and validation process.
- Mentoring junior programmers and assisting in developing their technical skills and domain understanding.
- Participating in internal quality checks and contributing to continuous improvement of programming processes and tools.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in statistical programming within the clinical research industry.
- Hands-on experience with SDTM, ADaM, and TLF datasets for clinical trial reporting.
- Proficiency in programming using SAS, with additional experience in R or Python preferred.
- Strong understanding of statistical methodologies, data standards, and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH/GCP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver under tight timelines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience working in global CROs or pharmaceutical companies.
- Knowledge of automation tools and advanced analytics workflows in clinical programming.
