Key Responsibilities
- Apply biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology knowledge to curate biological sequence information from patent documents in line with editorial policies and conventions.
- Manually curate all biological sequences within patent specifications, including PDF or TIFF images, not just formal electronic listings.
- Create additional and mutated sequences, and claimed SEQ ID fragments as per patent details.
- Maintain production volume and quality targets while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Follow safety and compliance guidelines as per company standards and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry.
- Experience:
- Freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience in patents or scientific data indexing.
- Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in patent indexing, gene sequencing, or disease indexing will be preferred.
- Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of patents and indexing processes.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, PDF/TIFF formats).
- Familiarity with biological databases such as NCBI taxonomy and PubMed.
- Strong analytical and secondary research skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
About the GENESEQ Team
The GENESEQ Team at Clarivate is a knowledge-driven group within the Intellectual Property Group (IPG), consisting of experts in biotechnology, bioinformatics, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
The team works on Nucleic Acid sequences (minimum 10 bases or 8 if claimed) and Amino Acid sequences (minimum 4 residues) to support global patent data systems.
