As a Clinical Research Associate, you will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of clinical trials that meet global standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), your main duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Site Feasibility and Investigator Selection
- Conduct site feasibility assessments and identify potential investigators.
- Negotiate study budgets and finalize investigator agreements.
- Execute Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDA) and site-specific study contracts.
2. Study Documentation and Regulatory Submissions
- Prepare and submit required study documents to obtain Ethics Committee (EC) approvals for assigned study sites.
- Ensure that all documentation complies with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory standards.
3. Site Initiation and Monitoring
- Coordinate site initiation visits, ensuring investigators and study staff are trained on study protocols and procedures.
- Conduct site monitoring visits to ensure study compliance, patient safety, and accurate data recording.
- Perform site close-out visits and ensure proper archiving of essential documents.
4. Drug Accountability and Inventory Management
- Supervise the dispensing of Investigational Product (IP).
- Maintain accurate records for inventory control, reconciliation, and returns of unused drugs.
- Ensure all IP activities align with study requirements and regulations.

5. Data Management and Query Resolution
- Oversee data entry, source data verification (SDV), and ensure data accuracy.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies or queries in coordination with site staff and data management teams.
- Ensure database readiness for final database lock (DBL).
6. Safety Reporting
- Monitor the reporting of Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) and Suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reactions (SUSARs).
- Ensure all SAEs are reported promptly to the sponsor, investigators, and regulatory authorities in compliance with Sun Pharma’s Pharmacovigilance (PV) policy.
7. Risk Management and CAPA Implementation
- Identify and assess site performance risks.
- Propose and execute Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to improve site compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of all CAPA activities and follow-up actions.
8. Coordination with Internal and External Teams
- Collaborate with internal departments such as data management, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, and pharmacovigilance.
- Liaise with external partners, such as Contract Research Organizations (CROs), to ensure study milestones are achieved.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any of the following fields:
- Pharmacy
- Nursing
- Public Health
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Life Sciences
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience Required
- Minimum 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Clinical Research.
- Prior experience in handling Phase III and Phase IV clinical trials is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to manage multiple study sites efficiently and deliver within deadlines.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH Guidelines.
- Understanding of local and global regulatory requirements for clinical trials.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with investigators and study teams.
- Sound knowledge of clinical trial documentation and data management procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
