About the Role
The Manager – Lab Informatics will lead a team responsible for implementing, supporting, and improving digital laboratory platforms such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebooks), CDS (Chromatography Data Systems), and SDMS (Scientific Data Management Systems). Key Responsibilities
1. Implementation and Support
- Lead the implementation and ongoing support of lab informatics systems including LIMS, ELN, CDS, and SDMS.
- Ensure systems are designed for scalability, compliance, and optimal performance.
- Oversee all phases of system build, validation, deployment, and enhancement.
- Resolve technical issues promptly while ensuring long-term system stability.
- Monitor performance metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
2. System Integration and Automation
- Connect instruments and enterprise platforms such as ERP, QMS, and MES to enable seamless data flow across systems.
- Identify and implement opportunities for workflow automation and data-driven decision-making.
- Promote digital innovation to enhance lab productivity and compliance.
3. Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all systems and processes meet regulatory standards including GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11.
- Maintain detailed, audit-ready documentation for all systems and validation activities.
- Ensure that all systems follow Computerized System Validation (CSV) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete compliance documentation and training users on regulatory best practices.
4. Leadership and Mentorship
- Manage a team of informatics professionals, guiding them through complex technical and analytical challenges.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide mentoring to develop future leaders within the team.

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 8 to 12 years of professional experience in laboratory informatics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience with LIMS, ELN, CDS, and SDMS platforms in regulated (GxP) environments.
- Strong understanding of Computerized System Validation (CSV), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and data integrity principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) or global pharmaceutical company.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, IoT integration, and analytics-driven system enhancement.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.
- Exposure to automation tools and laboratory data visualization platforms.
